Board of Selectmen · Meeting of September 21, 2026
NH FARMINGTON — Farmington's Selectmen approved $340,000 in levee work funding as the town faces tighter finances. The board voted unanimously to withdraw the amount from the Levee Capital Reserve Fund for federal Army Corps of Engineers assessment work required for FEMA compliance. Finance Administrator Kelly Heon reported the unassigned fund balance has shrunk to $2.4 million from year-end 2025 as the county assessment rose 11.67 percent and operating expenses increased.
Fund balance retention is estimated to drop from 14.3 to 10 or 11 percent, limiting discretionary spending. The board also approved a $10,978 generator for the selectmen's building, a $6,652.99 compressor-generator-welder unit, and a two-week temporary opening of the Winter Street gate for water and sewer work.
