Board approves downtown paving; misses dog licensing deadline

NH FARMINGTON — Farmington board greenlights $63,723 downtown paving, misses dog-licensing deadline. The Board of Selectmen voted unanimously to authorize a paving agreement with Pike Industries for the central downtown area, coordinated through the state DOT and timed to finish before the August 8 Hay Day event; the project includes milling and replacement, basin repairs, and cover resetting, with DOT covering flagging and traffic control. The board also approved a $60,000 Wright-Pierce contract funded by a previously accepted grant to investigate the town's 100-plus unknown lead and copper service lines, with all remediation required by 2030.
Town Administrator Jason Henry disclosed the board missed a June 1-20 state deadline for dog-licensing civil forfeiture, potentially forfeiting $8,000 or more in enforcement revenue.
