Board raises Town Administrator spending authority to $10,000

NH FARMINGTON — Selectmen raise Town Administrator spending limit to $10,000 with chair approval. The board voted 3-0-1 (Chairman Charlie King abstaining) to increase the unilateral spending cap from $5,000, matching the prior arrangement under former administrator Ken Dickie. Vice Chairman Doug Staples emphasized the existing Transfer Station gates were deteriorated enough to present liability concerns, prompting unanimous board approval of a $5,100 expenditure to replace them.
Chairman King reported Fire Chief Royal Edgerly initiated a matching grant updating the town's 2021 Emergency Management Plan, costing $4,000 town and $2,000 state, plus in-kind contributions. The board reviewed four open positions: Land Use Assistant, Highway truck driver/laborer, Water/Wastewater Operator, and Transfer Station, with advertising set for Indeed, Facebook, NHMA, and potentially Craigslist and governmentjobs.com.
