Board releases lien on Summer Street in narrow vote

NH FARMINGTON — Board of Selectmen releases lien in 3-2 vote. Chairman Charlie King, Vice Chairman Doug Staples and member John Scruton voted in favor of releasing the lien on 33 Summer Street, with members Ann Titus and Jason Chapman opposed. The board deferred a decision on selling a town-owned tax-deeded parcel after Apex Land Solutions expressed interest; the board requested legal review of heir distribution requirements under a New Hampshire Supreme Court ruling before pursuing sealed-bid or auction sale.
The meeting included briefings on Police Department radar unit deployment, Water Well No. 5 bacterial contamination, the signed water system contract for Wells 7 and 4R with construction estimated to start in August, and 70-unit mobile home development on Dick Dame Lane.
