Board reorganizes, faces $12,000 monthly legal costs

Board of Selectmen · Meeting of March 16, 2026

NH FARMINGTON — Farmington Selectmen reorganize and confront legal costs. The Board of Selectmen elected Charlie King as Chair and Doug Staples as Vice Chair while authorizing Town Administrator Jason Henry to draft guidelines limiting staff use of paid legal services as monthly bills averaged $12,000 for January and February. The board approved a permanent tasting-area expansion for Butternut Farm, deferred a major backhoe purchase decision pending cost analysis, and approved the Transfer Station Supervisor job description for posting.

Tax-assessment decisions included one granted abatement and multiple exemptions.
